Free Salon: Romeo & Juliet, the play vs. the ballet - This event is SOLD OUT

When: Monday, January 19 at 7:30 PM

Cost: SOLD OUT

Where: The New American Shakespeare Tavern
499 Peachtree Street NE

Join us as we explore what it takes to put on Shakespeare Tavern’s Romeo and Juliet and to bring the story to life as a ballet with the Atlanta Ballet production of Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Roméo et Juliette.

Atlanta Shakespeare Company Education Director Laura Cole will speak on original practice, and Atlanta Shakespeare Company members will present a scene from Shakespeare Tavern’s version of Romeo and Juliet. Atlanta Ballet Stage Manager Kelly Brown will talk with us about specific elements that go into translating Shakespeare’s tragic love story to dance. A Q&A will complete the evening.

The event is FREE. A limited menu of food, including a selection of adult beverages, will be available for purchase from 6:15 to 7:30pm for your enjoyment.
