Human Resources Manger

This position is full-time exempt, with dual reporting to the Executive Director with the Chief Operating Officer.

Position Summary

Provide overall Human Resources (HR) leadership, collaborating with the Executive Director and the Leadership Team to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives supporting a culture of engagement, inclusion and upholding a standard of excellence. The HR Manager manages day-to-day operations and administration of the HR policies and procedures. Functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee engagement, talent management, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, staff development and off boarding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and oversight of Human Resources function
  • Hiring, including recruiting and screening/interviewing, background checks, development and maintenance of new hire packets and benefits, and onboarding
  • Lead by example, actively supporting company culture throughout the organization
  • Oversee Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, driving a culture of DEI throughout the organization
  • Performance management and improvement, including managing the annual review process and performance coaching
  • Policy and procedure development, documentation, training, and enforcement, including reviewing and updating employee handbooks
  • Employee relations, working closely with the Executive Director and COO/CFO to effectively deal with conflicts related to employment practices
  • Administer and monitor employee benefits, manage open enrollment, workers compensation claims, file 5500 and 1095 forms
  • Review, approve and process bi-weekly payroll from department head submissions
  • Manage unemployment, including temporary and permanent layoff claims
  • Address staff grievances, conducting investigations, coaching, and counseling, issue corrective action or discipline, and consult with leadership and legal counsel as needed
  • Off boarding, including exit interviews
  • With leadership, negotiate collective bargaining agreements and monitor to ensure compliance
  • Manage employee events, including internal Town Hall meetings, quarterly staff meetings, and offsite volunteer events
  • Manage and track vacation, sick, personal, medical and FLMA leave

Qualifications/Requirements

BA in Human Resources, Organizational Management, or equivalent work experience. Three years of experience in a human resource position preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively act upon them, keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Ability to establish collaborative relationships at all levels to identify needs and deliver solutions that achieve employee, department, and organizational goals. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must have a solid commitment towards diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Compensation and Benefits

Atlanta Ballet provides a competitive and equitable compensation package with salary estimated in the range of $45,000 - $50,000. Employee benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, personal days, and holidays; health, long-term disability, life insurance; and a voluntary 403(b) retirement plan.
