Sr. Manager of Communications

This position is full-time, salaried and exempt from overtime with reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the overall marketing program, as well as specific responsibility for email marketing and website management, content generation and editing, program coordination and editing.

Principal Duties

  • Write and produce Atlanta Ballet email newsletters for all departments as assigned. Manage email marketing service provider account.
  • Manage all aspects of Atlanta Ballet website, including outsourced website design, and digital marketing agencies, creation of compelling content and day-to-day site maintenance.
  • Act as in-house editor for all outgoing communications to ensure brand language consistency.
  • Research, develop and implement effective interactive marketing tools including Atlanta Ballet Blog; Atlanta Ballet website management, in coordination with social media and paid digital campaigns.
  • Research, manage and edit all Atlanta Ballet playbills and casting inserts. Ensuring all contractual billing obligations including but not limited to music rights and royalties, creative team credits, and sponsorship placement.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and development of marketing campaigns, institutional and performance communications, as well as writing articles and research.
  • Support other departments with communication materials as needed.
  • Participate as a member of the marketing team, liaison for cooperative interdepartmental activities.
  • Act as second in command in marketing department for approval process of marketing and company brand materials.
  • Create and/or disseminate institutional and departmental surveys.

Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5-years marketing/communication experience
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp, Prospect 2 or other email service providers
  • Microsoft office products a must
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, and knowledge of AP style
  • Knowledge of Craft and/or other website content management systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Tessitura a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Atlanta Ballet provides a competitive and equitable compensation package with salary estimated in the range of $50,000 – 54,000. Employee benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, personal days, and holidays; health, long-term disability, life insurance; and a voluntary 403(b) retirement plan.
