Atlanta Ballet Announces 2022|2023 Company Roster
Seven new dancers join Atlanta Ballet’s professional company

ATLANTA (Oct. 14, 2022) – After an acclaimed debut of the first full season since 2019, Artistic Director Gennadi Nedvigin has announced Atlanta Ballet’s 2022|2023 Company roster, assembling a world-class mix of local, national and international dancers to join the professional company, including the promotion of four talented young dancers from Atlanta Ballet 2:

• Larissa Dal’Santo, a former soloist with the State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Voronezh, Russia;
• Patric Palkens, who comes to Atlanta from Boston Ballet where he danced as a soloist for five years;
• Luiz Fernando Xavier, who most recently performed as a principal dancer with the State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Voronezh, Russia;
• Severin Brotschul, who danced with Houston Ballet II prior to joining Atlanta Ballet 2;
• Hui Wen Peng, who joined Atlanta Ballet 2 in 2019, and was recently awarded a silver medal at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition in Finland;
• Evelyn Robinson, joined Atlanta Ballet 2 after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school dance program;
• Kaitlin Matree Roemer, who moved from Michigan to train as an Academy student at Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education and was invited to join Atlanta Ballet 2 after graduating Academy 5.

This season, Atlanta Ballet’s Company consists of 40 dancers. Dal’Santo, Palkens and Xavier are three accomplished dancers who add experience, technical depth, knowledge and bring their own perspectives to the Company, while dynamic newcomers Brotschul, Peng, Robinson and Roemer bring a youthful energy as they join a long list of talented Atlanta Ballet 2 dancers promoted to the Company, including six in the 2021|2022 season.

In describing the Company dancing in the season opener, Balanchine Inspired, Robin Wharton for ArtsATL wrote, “It was a big evening of ambitious, technically challenging ballet that showcased a strong company in top form…”

By having a Company of 40 it allows us to broaden the selection of ballets we can put on stage for audiences,” said Nedvigin. “We hope the beautiful and dynamic chemistry among the returning and new Company members resonates with audiences at all Atlanta Ballet performances this season.”

Atlanta Ballet also welcomes two new Company Repetiteurs, Angela Agresti and Eduardo Permuy, joining Rory Hohenstein, former soloist with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, rounding out the artistic staff. Agresti brings experience of a diverse repertoire from her time at Cincinnati Ballet and Dutch National Ballet. She also spent time as a choreographic assistant in Amsterdam and has been teaching and rehearsing dancers since she returned to the U.S. in 2018. Permuy brings 18 years of experience dancing with various companies, such as American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Joffrey Ballet, Ballet West, Smuin Ballet and more. He comes to Atlanta Ballet from Cleveland Ballet, where he worked as a director of repertoire. Their individual and combined experiences will be an asset to Artistic Director Gennadi Nedvigin, Company dancers and choreographers.
