Atlanta Ballet presents a lush, modern reimagining of the classic parable in which the pleasures of the flesh challenge the resolve of three young seminarians. Set to Carl Orff’s masterful score, David Bintley’s Carmina Burana is a hypnotic feast for the senses. Bold, sensual, and a bit cheeky, this production is perfect for a pre-Valentine’s date night. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

The March program, curated by Atlanta Ballet’s new artistic director, Gennadi Nedvigin, explores the evolution and transformative nature of dance. From the 19th century masterpiece Paquita to Vespertine, a captivating piece by famed British choreographer Liam Scarlett, to a brand new work that emerging choreographer Gemma Bond will create on Atlanta Ballet in the fall, this triple-bill celebrates the timeless beauty and power of ballet.

Just Announced: LIVE MUSIC for Firebird performed by the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra

In April, Atlanta Ballet pays homage to three of the most inventive choreographers of the 20th and 21st centuries with a modern masters program. Atlanta will fall in love with Yuri Possokhov’s sensational Firebird with its vivacious whimsy and striking staging. The neoclassical splendor of George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante and the passionate, intimate physicality of Jiří Kylián’s Petite Mort round out the program, demonstrating the awe-inspiring range of Atlanta Ballet’s dancers.

Gutman, the wicked hotelier, rules the Camino Real with an iron fist, and the residents of this dead-end town live in fear of him and his band of thugs. Trapped and disillusioned, they have all but given up when the arrival of our hero and former light heavyweight boxing champ, Kilroy, brings renewed hope to these lost souls and reignites their wills to live. Called “an extraordinary creative achievement” (ArtsATL), Camino Real is a rousing tale of survival and good versus evil that fuses dance, theater, and live music into one unforgettable experience. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
