Above the Stadium, Beyond the Game
July 15, 2026

Before a single ball was kicked, before the roar of thousands filled the stadium, there was a dancer.
Poised atop Mercedes-Benz Stadium, silhouetted against the Atlanta skyline, Atlanta Ballet artist Camille-Margaret Jackson became part of a FIFA World Cup 2026™ promotional film. It was a striking image — one that revealed a powerful connection between two worlds often viewed separately: soccer and ballet. At their highest levels, both are driven by the same pursuit of excellence: artistry, athleticism, discipline, movement, and passion.
For Atlanta native Camille-Margaret Jackson, that pursuit began at an early age. She first stepped into the studio at Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education at just four years old, beginning a journey that would shape her future as a professional artist. At 11, she joined the Academy program with the goal of pursuing dance at the highest level, dedicating herself to the training, discipline, and artistry required to make that dream a reality. After three seasons with Atlanta Ballet 2, Jackson’s commitment and growth led her to the next chapter of her journey: joining Atlanta Ballet’s professional company.
As the world turns its attention to extraordinary athletes competing on the pitch — celebrating brilliant goals, impossible saves, and unforgettable victories — we’re reminded that behind every breathtaking performance, whether on a field or on a stage, is a story of preparation: years of training, sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to mastering a craft.
At Atlanta Ballet, we know that journey well.
Like the players who step onto the field, our dancers spend countless hours in the studio refining movements that audiences experience for only a few moments. Every leap, every turn, every lift is the result of years of repetition, trust, and determination. Whether you’re chasing a championship or preparing for opening night, excellence is earned long before anyone is watching.
That is why it was such an honor to be part of a FIFA World Cup 2026™ campaign. To see one of our dancers representing Atlanta from the rooftop of Mercedes-Benz Stadium was more than a beautiful visual — it was a celebration of our city’s creative spirit and a reminder that world-class artistry exists both inside our theaters and inside our stadiums.
The World Cup has brought the world to Atlanta. Fans have arrived from every corner of the globe, united by a love of the beautiful game. They have filled our streets with languages, colors, songs, and stories. Some will leave with unforgettable victories, others wondering what might have been. Eventually, they will all return home.
But here in Atlanta, the work continues. While the stadium lights grow dark, the studio lights will stay on. Classes will begin again. Rehearsals will continue. New works will be created. And new artists will be shaped. Because excellence doesn’t end with the final whistle. It doesn’t disappear when the crowds go home. It lives in the daily commitment to keep learning, keep refining, and keep reaching for something greater.
Because the magic of movement never ends. It simply finds another stage.
