CEO Update: 2013-14 Season in Review with Arturo Jacobus

Friends and Patrons,

On July 31, our fiscal year will end and we will close the curtain on the 13|14 Season for Atlanta Ballet and our Centre for Dance Education. This past season, we have moved closer to achieving our strategic goals and have continued to distinguish ourselves in the world of dance by performing innovative works at the highest artistic level and educating future generations of dancers.

The progress Atlanta Ballet has made, and continues to make, is very exciting. Your support has helped us get this far, and we need your help to continue growing and to claim our place as one of the most distinctive ballet companies in today’s ever evolving dance scene.

We rely on contributions from individuals like you to be able to stage our exceptional productions and keep our community’s youth dancing. This year, our budget for annual fund contributions from individuals is $350,000, and as of July 9 we’ve raised $192,360. We need your help to reach our goal by July 31.

Whether you have given a gift already this season, have been waiting for the right moment to renew, or have never given a contribution to Atlanta Ballet’s annual operating fund as an individual, the time is now.

When Artistic Director John McFall meets with choreographers to negotiate contracts and rights, he needs to know we have your support. When Tamara Cobus, our Costume Director, examines which Nutcracker costumes to restore, she needs to know we have your support. When Dean Sharon Story explores her resources to provide dance to as many of metro-Atlanta’s youth as possible, she needs to know we have your support. When our students and dancers return at the end of the summer, I want to tell them we have your support. I want to tell them that the support from our patrons is staggering and in one month they helped us race to meet our goal because they believe in the power and the passion we present on stage and in the studio.

We need you to make the commitment to the artistic vision and show your dedication to education that Atlanta Ballet stands for. Every gift is important, whether you can give $10, $100, $1000 - we need your support today.

Every patron matters. Every gift counts.

I invite you to join us today.
