Coming Spring 2022 Stars and Stripes
Stars and Stripes by George Balanchine is an all-American masterpiece featuring five sections dubbed as “campaigns” set to John Philip Sousa’s marches, including the popular “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
The highly-anticipated world premiere by Juliano Nunes meant to be part of Atlanta Ballet’s 2019|2020 Season finale is now set to close out our 2020|2021 Season.
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is the first major performing arts facility built in metro Atlanta in four decades.

Juliano Nunes, Choreographer, World Premiere
Trained at the Brazilian Dance Conservatory in Rio de Janeiro, Juliano Nunes furthered his studies at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts in Germany earning a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts. He joined companies such as Royal Ballet of Flanders, Leipzig Opera Ballet, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Stuttgart Gauthier Dance. Nunes has worked with choreographers such as William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon,Hans van Manen,Jirí Kylián,Ohad Naharin, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Yuri Grigorovich, Akram Kahn, among others. He has gone on to receive critical acclaim for his own choreography and has created pieces for the Royal Ballet in London, Nederlands Dans Theatre 2, Acosta Danza, Atlanta Ballet, Mariinsky Theatre and a new Netflix series “Tiny Pretty Things.”
